Beautiful business

A local female entrepreneur and her business are facing a prosperous future after doubling her business capacity over night.
Beauty therapy business ‘Harmony Beauty Rooms’ have successfully secured larger business premises after moving to a new shop unit in a local shopping centre.

Proprietor Estelle says ‘we were really struggling for space and unfortunately could only offer a limited service. Now we have two beauty rooms, we can offer our clients a more substantial range of beauty treatments’.

As well as securing more space, Estelle has invested heavily into more beauty treatment equipment allow the additional services of spray tanning, detox procedures and non surgical face lifts to run along her existing products.

‘Being such a small business, finding the funds to move units and invest into new equipment was difficult.’ claimed Estelle. ‘Due to the business being so small, I was finding the extra investment that was needed hard to come by. With the business being so new, the banks were unwilling to help. Luckily I was referred of Street North East who came out and assessed the business and helped me realise my business potential’.

After assessing the business based upon previous trading history and future potential, Street North East were able to offer financial assistance to allow the expansion to go ahead. Street North East also gave Estelle a lot of business advice and support.

“It has been a real pleasure working with Estelle and witnessing her business develop” said Michael Burns, Street’s North East client relationship manger. “Small businesses are increasingly finding it difficult to source business funding from the usual routes. Street North East takes a different view and will assist any profitable business which has been trading for at least six months”.

Express Local Success!

A local family run business set up by a North East entrepreneur only a few years ago has developed into one of the leading independent driving academies in the North East. From humble beginnings as a sole trader, Johnny Sage has developed his 1st Express Driving School, which at one point ran from under the stairs at home, to now employing 16 full time instructors!

With such volume of demand for the driving school, Johnny and 1st Express have recently relocated the business to the busy Manor Walks shopping centre in Cramlington where demand is as greater than ever. “After researching the market, we were impressed by the volume of shoppers in the Manor Walks centre, many of whom are looking for quality driving tuition” claims Johnny.
Great business growth and high pass rates however are sometimes not enough in the business world! Johnny also received a great deal of help form a local not-for-profit organisation, Street North East Ltd.
Street took time assessing Johnny’s business to offer tailored advice and support as well as finance to turn the plans into reality.
“Street has been there for me every step of the way and the support has been greatly appreciated” claimed Johnny “finding the finance for business growth plans is always difficult for any business, but we at 1st express had already invested heavily into newer high standard vehicles” “Street were able to help with the funding of the new Cramlington unit”.
